I think we can all agree, 2020 has been one of the longest years ever. However, radio stations are already playing holiday music, and the Holiday Song Showdown is ready for another season. Are you with me folks?
Thanksgiving is set pretty late again this year, and you'll have right up until the Wednesday before to enter your Top 16 picks for bragging rights. Due to it being so late though, we'll be doing a few nights of three battles again this year. What does the showdown have in store for you listeners this time?
To start off with, we have the Top 16 songs from last year (less the winner) to begin our list. Fortunately, none of these songs have been on for three seasons in a row, so this year none of the top songs will be replaced by alternate versions. In addition to those 15 songs, you'll see the regular mix of great new songs, complete garbage, and the really really weird. I've also included different versions of songs that have been on the showdown, but failed to make it onto a second season. Once again, we'll also be doing Wildcards! Four songs will get a second chance to make it back into the Top 32. This gives Top 16 contenders another chance at their songs moving along, and it makes voting (even for a losing song) very important. Defeated songs with the most votes get a chance to make a comeback.
One question you might be asking is if we included an explicit song again this year. Santa is a Gangster didn't seem to go over well only getting 2 votes in the showdown. Were we Nice again to our fans of explicit songs, or did we only get them some noodles? You'll have to check the lists below to find out.
